These landscapes were created for a ‘Hand-cut Paper Landscapes’ swap I joined. I picked four of my favorite places as inspiration. I sketched them out beforehand, but they were more time consuming (and sticky!) to execute than anticipated.

I find painting feathers very relaxing. I prefer to use highly pigmented, vibrant watercolors, and I do them in three layers - an initial outline, light coloring of the feather, once dry, an additional watercolor layer to add more color, lastly adding details with ink (gel pens and finalizers).

  Personal Touch: I simply dig in my current heart, intimacy & birth. It was a way to cope with something that was brewing & I was then able to point out & name what was actually happening. I use my art as a journal in some way. What does it bring forward to you?
